I have only found one other of these out there anywhere

with no tears and only minimal toning

There seems to be a long history of rooster paintings

likely accompanied by notes as to the skills being demonstrated

I think original to the frame

Rendered in graphite, charmingly naive, signed at lower right. C. 1980s I believe I found it (at Brimfield) along with a second portrait by the same person (since sold) of Tammy Faye Baker! 10 1 8" x 8 1 8" framed, under glass, inexpensive metal frame, as found. Ribbed texture of cardboard backing has resulted in some corresponding light toning, which just seems all of a piece with it.
