The flowers emerge in mid summer followed by 2 cm shiny red haws which stay on well into winter. This is not a fussy tree, it will gladly grow in coastal, exposed, polluted and damp sites. It is also very popular with wildlife. Good autumn colours and nice exfoliating bark. Hardy.
