The interior is a deep red gold-flecked lacquer which I believe is called nashiji

Lovely Large Antique Set of Wooden Building Blocks in Original Box Chinese antique this feels like a museumThis lovely blocks set is not entirely complete, but it is not far off, and the original box with lithographed, slide top lid is in very good shape. I believe these date to right around 1900 and are most likely German, as most of these sets seem to have been. Photos numbered 1,2, and 3 show all blocks, with no repeats, and I must say I would have liked to spend a lot more arranging and photographing them! They just feel good to have around, and should
