I know that they came from a collection of items handed down from the owners of a family owned clothing store in Brooklyn, and believe they date to sometime between the 1920s 40s. I believe they were floor samples, and understand that these sorts of slipper were ordered as blanks, and then embroidered locally. Some losses to the embroidery and the soles are well worn which
