Its roundness associated with controlled power reveals its purity

and framed by rounded tannins

Varietal character has been de emphasised, but not at the expense of flavour. This is quite lovely. Slate, apple and passionfruit with a spicy, smoky, floral edge. It has good bite, ample but not overdone texture, a steely slatey feel and sound length. Its good buying, and drinking.
