The painting is called "In His Honor," and the painter was Louis Emile Adan (18391937). Aden painted lovely, tranquil scenes of people in rural life and other "genre" paintings, including some religious ones, of which we have another in the shop. He painted at least two versions of this painting; we think this is the better one.
