" On the bottom of each of their pieces also appears the species of the particular mushroom represented--in this case the first of the two words is a bit difficult to read because of a tiny chip in the glaze at the end of the first word but it looks like "Naucana Christinae"--and I must say is quite a lovely species

There are so many great old handmade wooden doorstops out there

My guess is that it dates from the late 19th century or so

Handmade Needle Lace Flower Medallion chunky vase Links measure about 1 1/2"I find handmade lace a small miracle, and find it impossible not to rescue pieces like this when I come across them what labor and patience went into all of those tiny stitches! Though I have found this sort of lace called Belgian, a little further research has led me to understand the origins of the technique to be, I think, Venetian. The fineness of this example makes me think it has a good bit of age to it, but I am not an expert. 7" in diameter
