with room to spare for some more beautiful old wooden blocks (and there is something very satisfying and also luxurious feeling to see this big old wooden vessel measure filled with them)

I don't think photos do full justice to just how beautiful these cards are

and especially in how glazes obscure or reveal the clay underneath

I found it Concord, NH in a basket of other little odds and ends, and simply could not put it down; I think it is really quite amazing! Hand painted porcelain I believe, perhaps the perfect gift for one's favorite farmer, or corn on the cob gobbler! 1 5 8" long and in excellent condition.
