Determined Looking Hand-carved, Jointed Doll with Painted Face old metal buttons These have pretty pink backsThis small, articulated carved doll reminds me a bit of a much larger one (in red high heels!) featured in American Vernacular. This one is far from that one, but I think she's got a lot of character and presence to her, especially in the face between those painted pink cheeks and very blue eyes and red pursed mouth and very long forehead. To me she looks both super wary and intensely determined. Circe 1920s or so I would guess, maker unknown. 8 1 16"
