Very good vintage condition overall and structurally very sound with some scattered lost/split stitches as pictured

I take it to be a lush red poppy (my personal favorite flower) from which this little girl is peeking out her head

11 1/2" long x 6 1/2" wide x 1 3/4 deep and in perfectly worn condition

purchased from the very fabulous sculptor and collector Elie Nadelman in the 1930s

The structure underneath the fabric feels to be card board, and then each of the twelve panels appear to have been hand stitched together, with stick pins placed over each seam probably for a mix of reinforcement and decorative effect.
