Marking the month of August 1917 (the calendar bit was cut and pasted onto the card) I presume it was the maker of the pressing who wrote a few notes to herself on the reverse
Winsome Colored Pencil Flowers Drawing toy ship this (dog)house shaped old tinI found this drawing in the Hudson River Valley while digging through some stacks of flat work and it just struck me as a good one striking just the right balance of cheerful and winsome, boldness and delicacy; sweet but not sacharine. I don't believe it's got much age to it, and haven't definitely placed the M McGurk who signed it, but I'm really quite fond if it. 16 1 4" x 10". Colored pencil on paper. Very good condition.
