from whatever materials they had at hand--but my guess is that this small lidded box is an example

While the sale was loaded with other (mostly much larger) paintings and sculptures by him

I'd guess the head as well as the boots are made of a  composite

Roses in Window (3 of 3) Glass Plate Negative indigenous art it bears a strong resemblanceThis is one of three 5" x 7" glass plate negatives in the shop capturing arrangements of roses in various settings. Pretty unusual, I think they are wonderful both as images and objects, and would probably prop them just as is in a windowsill, which is how I photographed them. I believe they probably date to the 1910s or 20s. Really lovely. The slide shows a little peeling and few scratches, I think just adding to its terrific moodiness and aura! 5" x
