Folk Art Pyrographed Flying Pheasant on Fungus Conk wooden whimsey chain but I think it's quiteI found a great fungus conk pyrographed with an owl a month or two ago by the same maker that signed this one, both of which I purchased from the same dealer. As with that one, I love how this flying game bird, a pheasant I would guess, looks rather as if it emerged from the fungus conk itself, always there, and as roughly rendered as the craggy back side of the conk. I also like that it can be displayed sitting up, face front, or on its back, face
