1770s "Laylock" Bonnet 1930s The focus for this workshopWhich black is the most common color for 18th century bonnets, other colors do appear in period descriptions and artwork. In the 18th century, "laylock" referred to a fashionable shade of purple or lilac. Here is our version of a fashionable "laylock" bonnet. It is made of silk taffeta and trimmed in a wide silk satin ribbon of a corresponding color. Bonnet is unlined, has tie in back for adjustment. Made from our standard size Larkin & Smith Bonnet
