Sterling Silver Vesta / Match Striker by J Walker, Birmingham, 1888. 19th Century the Minerva headA very attractive late 19th century sterling silver vesta and match striker, fully hallmarked for J Walker, Birmingham, 1888. The vesta boasts a striking wave form design with a hinged lid and striker to the base. The silver shows some wear commensurate with age, the most notable of which is a small tear to the silver at the top where presumably a loop for a chain would previously have been in place (please see photographs). The lid opens and closes
