It looks to the me like the hull of an upside down boat that these two are sitting upon

Hand-thrown Platter with Two Nudes Godde Brothers only enhanced by wear--andThis large plate or platter appears to be unsigned, which surprises me a bit as I think it's fabulous. I'd be inclined to use it for serving all sorts of things, such that the nudes might reveal themselves as those things gradually disappear, but it's also a great one just for display. It's also a heavy one, hand thrown of terracotta then hand painted, with some shine to the glazing. Late 20th century I would guess. 11 3 4" in diameter x 1" tall and
