Hardy Bros. "St. Croix" Bamboo Spinning Rod 8'3" One of the first things

One of the first things I checked on this rod was the reel seat spacer -- made of tiger stripe maple -- whose amber color came from a heat-treating process and which marks it as one of the rods that I worked on myself at Leonard fairly early in my rodmaking career

The rod has a rather quick and crisp action as one would expect but capable of the utmost delicacy

Set up with a carbide stripper and black guides

Three sections including the handle. The rod is in very good original condition. All sections are full length with a slight set in the tip section. The one issue is bag burn on the varnish throughout the rod, which could possibly be polished out. Emerald green silks with red tipping. Brass guides with agate inserts all in excellent condition.
