The front half gives you consistent card draw with its triggered ability that rewards spellslinging, while The Great Synthesiss first chapter provides a huge burst of card advantage

The reality is that the card can be great once you're already online with your strategy, but is probably less efficient at setting that strategy up

It'll be interesting to me to see what happens with this type and if it gets retroactively added to folks like Phyrexian Negator or Phyrexian Plaguelord
