Although I don't see myself running this deck's alternate Commmander, Ureni of the Unwritten, it is a nice late-game threat for this build

Turning every single trade into a losing proposition for your opponent is nice, and removal is great with Vren, too

Whats really great about filter lands is their ability to create mana for a color you might not have on the board

Figure may be grown (or shrunk!) at instant speed which is significantly more convenient than other levellers however the increments of cost increase meaning you can't physically reach higher levels without all the mana to do so in one go making it a worse mana sink

You may put a permanent card from among the milled cards into your hand

Not quite as universally effective, but its still a 3-power white creature with flying and flash that can save a creature by blinking it
