There are enough lands between Amonkhet and Hour of Devastation that we can play an entirely Desert mana base, and there are a bunch of Desert payoffs as well (although none of them seem exceedingly powerful on their own.) I'd be shocked if, sooner or later, Deserts didn't just find their way onto the Against the Odds poll but win it as well
