The brand’s signature space age detailing continued right through to the couture collections of the 1980s and I had thought this cocooning coat dress was circa 1984-1986

The dress has a slightly dropped waist (as was common for the styles of the era) and a gathered skirt which creates definition at the hip and falls to around knee length

Best fit for up to a UK size 10-12

it was a little big on the bust and slightly tight around the legs

Many high profile, couture clients request minor variations to runway looks and we have pictured a long version of the dress modelled by Dalma Callado for an editorial shoot. She was one of Garavani's favourite models and regularly walked the catwalk in his shows. The dress, which is about knee length, is entirely hand stitched and a combination of rich
